The fashion market, along with other industries, has jumped into the AI train. As we witness AI-generated designs gracing the runway, this digital innovation also has the potential to introduce AI models, offering a new perspective in the fashion industry.

Therefore, there are numerous avenues within the fashion industry where AI generation can be utilized, including AI-generated models, which not only endorse diversity but also foster creativity. According to AI advocates, AI fashion models can emphasize the diversity and inclusion of different sizes, shapes and skin tones creating more individual looks on models to lower the cost and waste in clothing. On the other hand, this can also support the companies in cost saving and create a more collaborative field for the people who want to work in the tech industry, in fashion.

The first AI-Pageant

One of the key things that AI has been learning is the traditional customs of humanity. Apparently, pageantry is one of them. The World AI Creator Awards (WAICA) is organising an event where AI models and influencers will be competing for a cash prize. This very new technology which has more space to grow and develop itself, needs to show up and showcase itself to understand and learn from each other and other industries. This contest, which is limited to AI-generated models and influencers, is scheduled for May 10 and will feature beauty as seen via a technological lens.

One of the recent examples of this is the London-based model Alexsandrah’s AI-generated twin. The AI-generated twin of Alexsandrah was used in a photoshoot, and Alexsandrah herself got paid each time the AI version was used in the photoshoots. Alexsandrah states that the AI replication is so accurate that it even includes her baby’s hair. Alexsandrah, who lives and works in London, credits her digital partner with helping her stand out in the fashion world. Indeed, Alexsandrah has even supported Shudu, a black computer-generated model created by Cameron Wilson, the CEO of The Diigitals, a digital modelling studio based in the United Kingdom, and a former fashion photographer.

As AI-generated models continue to evolve with advancements in technology and algorithms developed by computer scientists, they also spark discussions on inclusion and diversity. Representation is a crucial aspect of the fashion industry, serving not only to demonstrate that customers are recognized by brands but also to showcase that all body shapes and sizes can be embraced in clothing lines. This fosters the creation of unique and individualized looks tailored to diverse body types, ensuring that everyone can feel comfortable, chic, and stylish.
